Since leaving Ireland in August Burrow Seven spent six weeks being pre-trained and pre-schooled with the hugely respected former-racehorse trainer Henrietta Knight at West Lockinge Farm. ‘Hen’ has trained over 700 winners including Best Mate, who won three consecutive Cheltenham Gold Cups in 2002, 2003 and 2004.

He is a natural jumper and comes from a very good pedigree. I think he has a huge amount of potential and is definitely a horse I like.

In October Burrow Seven moved to Yorkshire, where he continues his training with Jedd O’Keeffe. Jedd, a former jockey himself, has trained many winners on the flat, over hurdles and fences.

Burrow Seven has settled in beautifully. He’s really relaxed and has proved to be an excellent ride. He’s clearly been very well broken and educated by Henrietta Knight. He’s come here in fantastic condition. Everything is in place for him to be a potential good jumper. He’s strong, he’s big, he’s well-built and he seems to have the right attitude to be a great racehorse. From now we build up his fitness on the gallops and build up his education and teach him how to be a racehorse and compete with other horses.”

Burrow Seven is a professional who knows his job. For a three year old he carries himself lovely and has a great stride on him for a young horse.. He loves plenty of attention!

Membership in the Burrow Seven Racing Club costs just £59.

All profits from membership sales will go towards the Rob Burrow Fightback Fund at the MND Association and be spent on MND research. Members not only get to experience the thrill of owning a racehorse, but they also get to be part of Rob Burrow’s inspiring legacy.

Phil Hawthorne, founder of Racing4Business:
“The idea for this fundraising campaign was borne by my love of rugby league and passion for horseracing. Like so many of you, I have been really inspired by Rob’s battle with MND and I wanted to create a covid-friendly way to honour Rob’s legacy on the pitch and his heroism in his battle with MND. We have high aspirations for how much we hope to raise so I encourage you all to become a member of the Burrow Seven racing club.”
